Yalda Ahmadvand

Reimagines Education for All

Oct 7, 2022 |

In 2015, Yalda Ahmadvand, saw a need for a global vocational training college. As the founder, Yalda comes with an impressive resume, including a Master’s degree in Linguistics from the UK’s leading University of Leicester, England.

The educational visionary saw the necessity and importance for a private college – one that could offer the highest quality programming to hundreds of students across Canada and the globe.
Since then, the private college has been recognized by the Ministry of Advanced Education, and by the city as the only accepted certified global vocational training college on the North Shore.

Yalda didn’t stop there. The professional educator, who sits on the board of TESL Canada as its Professional Development Director, went on to establish North Vancouver’s Burlington High School in 2019. Her vision was “of fostering a safe and inclusive learning environment for tomorrow’s global leaders.”

Now, the independent private high school is opening its doors to students in Grades 10 to 12. This September, Yalda is pleased to announced the opportunity to welcome seniors to its forward-thinking and inclusive professional curriculum.

Burlington High School’s mandate is to prepare its students for higher education and admission into top tiered universities across North America. They offer rigorous, yet supportive, enrichment programs and advanced study programs to help students achieve their dreams.
