With four successful ventures under his belt, Pourang is a leading business owner and entrepreneur in Vancouver. With his wealth of experience in the financial services sector, he has raised over $20M in capital across all of his projects. Without a doubt, he has established himself as an industry leader in some of Vancouver’s most competitive industries.
Before starting his entrepreneurial journey, Pourang was previously a partner at Abana Capital Investments and a controller for Corriente Resources which was later acquired for $1B. In his most prominent role at Arete Venture, he has not only worked on $250M multi-unit real estate development projects but was also overseeing the Arete Queens Landing Townhome Project – a $24M site that was completed in 2019 and built 14 townhomes.

From being an employee in some of Vancouver’s top investment firms to being a locally-recognized business owner, Pourang has proven himself as a force to be reckoned with. Currently, he is the Co-founder and Managing Partner of Arete Venture Capital Corp, a company that leads with profitable development investments. Arete invests in early-stage series A financing and technology-related firms, as well as luxury, multi-unit townhomes and wood and concrete high rises. Pourang is also the Founder, President and CEO of Dumont & Co. Accounting Ltd. He launched Dumont with the goal of delivering smart solutions to the complex challenges companies face, especially in today’s competitive marketplace. Since 2009, this award-winning accounting and finance firm has been helping individuals, businesses and organizations achieve both financial and personal success.
Continuing to make his mark across Vancouver’s financial sectors, Pourang is also Vice President of Hera Investment Funds – a company that provides clients with safe and secure services to maximize returns on mortgage investments. Reaching across the tech sector, Pourang is also the Managing Partner and CFO of Yocale Network, a startup tech company that aims to connect consumers with local businesses. As if all of that wasn’t impressive enough already, Pourang is also Co-founder of TK Consulting, a financial services company that helps over 300 small and medium-sized businesses reach their goals and grow their capital.
